Norwegian Ambassador to Vietnam Grete Lochen opened the event and said: “Renewable energy and climate are the top priorities of the Norwegian Government. Climate change is the fundamental challenge of our time. Meanwhile, the global energy sector is the main source of emissions, generating nearly a quarter of all greenhouse gas emissions. We must transform the way energy is produced and consumed in order to achieve the goals set out in the Paris Agreement and COP26. Therefore, Norway will continue to actively participate in international climate diplomacy and look forward to further strengthening global cooperation in this process. The Norwegian Government's priority is to work closely with business and industry to ensure a fair and successful transition to a renewable, circular and sustainable future. Therefore, today I am very pleased and proud of Equinor's commercial presence in Vietnam.”
