On October 26, information from the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that on October 24, this ministry had a written response to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment related to an offshore wind power project in Soc Trang province by Co., Ltd. Mainstream Phu Cuong proposed.
Previously, on June 3, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment sent a document to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and relevant ministries and agencies to request comments on the proposal to install a lidar to measure wind at sea to serve the project. Phu Cuong Soc Trang offshore wind power plant (phase 2) of Mainstream Phu Cuong Co., Ltd.
Through the review, the Ministry of Industry and Trade confirmed that the offshore wind power project in Soc Trang province proposed by Mainstream Phu Cuong Co., Ltd., with a capacity of about 1,000 MW, has not yet been included in the national electricity development planning. approved by competent authorities.
According to Article 11 of the Electricity Law, electricity development investment must be consistent with the electricity development planning. Therefore, this project can only be invested when it is approved in the national electricity planning period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2045.
