On March 14, the SEA report forecast that Sweden's wind power output will increase from 27.4 terawatt hours (TWh) in 2021 to 46.9 TWh in 2024 thanks to a strong expansion. installed capacity.

Last year, the Nordic nation installed an additional 2.1 gigawatts (GW) of wind capacity, equivalent to 6.8 TWh of annual electricity production.

SEA data shows that Sweden's total net electricity generation will increase from 165.7 TWh in 2021 to 183.5 TWh in 2024, of which solar power output will also nearly triple, from 1.1 TWh up 3 TWh.

Hydroelectricity and nuclear power will still be Sweden's two largest power sources with stable output at 66 TWh and 52 TWh respectively.

According to SEA, Sweden's net electricity exports are expected to increase from 25.6 TWh to 41.4 TWh between 2021-2024, but this figure could be lower if domestic consumption grows faster forecast level.

Electricity demand in the transport sector will increase from 3.2 TWh to 4.9 TWh, while electricity consumption in industry is expected to increase from 46.5 TWh to 47.8 TWh.
