Quang Nam proposes to receive a wind power project with a capacity of 500MW

On May 4, 2022, Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Ho Quang Buu signed a document advising to settle the request for a unified policy to receive wind power projects in Cha'noc village, Ch'om commune, Tay Giang district.

The official letter states: "Implement the direction of the Standing Provincial Party Committee in Official Dispatch No. 956-CV/TU dated April 26, 2022 on the settlement of the request of the Standing Board of Tay Giang District Party Committee on applying for a policy Agreeing to approach the wind power project, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to take the lead together with the Department of Planning and Investment, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the People's Committee of Tay Giang District and other agencies. relevant units to review, consider and evaluate the investment possibility of wind power projects in Cha'noc village, Ch'om commune, Tay Giang district; synthesize and advise on draft documents of the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee and report to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee for consideration and decision."

Previously, on April 15, 2022, the Standing Board of Tay Giang District Party Committee had submitted a report No. 85-TTr/HU to the Standing Party Committee of Quang Nam Province on applying for a policy of unifying wind power projects in Tay Giang district.

According to the report of the Tay Giang District Party Committee to the Standing Committee of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee, through the survey, research and evaluation, it shows that the province has great wind potential, the main wind direction is the westerly wind, appearing frequently with a speed of 6.5 - 7.8m/s. Therefore, the province has great potential in exploiting wind power.

Based on the research results, the Standing Board of Tay Giang District Party Committee proposed the Standing Committee of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee to agree on a policy for the district to receive a wind power project in Cha'noc village, Ch'om commune with a scale of about 500MW. , equivalent to an investment of 100 wind turbines.

After agreeing on the policy, Tay Giang district continues to cooperate with relevant departments and agencies to advise the Provincial People's Committee to implement the next steps and procedures, and to select a survey consultant and capable contractor. force to execute the project.
