Inauguration of Hoa Binh 5 Power Plant (Bac Lieu) Phase 1

Recently, on April 29, 2022, Hoa Binh 5 wind power plant (phase 1) invested by Hacom Bac Lieu Energy Joint Stock Company was officially inaugurated and put into operation. The factory was built with an area of ​​more than 27ha, 26 wind turbines, with a capacity of up to 80MW, the average production output is 280 million kWh/year, paying over VND 80 billion to the State budget annually. Hoa Binh 5 wind power plant project is considered as the largest-scale project on the coastal mainland in the Mekong Delta region. Hoa Binh 5 wind power plant (phase 1) is expected to be put into operation on land with a capacity of 100MW. And the offshore phase 2 will have a capacity of about 300MW.

The completion of the project has contributed to promoting Bac Lieu's green development, towards building the province into a national energy center. At the same time, combining with other wind power projects on the coastal belt road of Bac Lieu - Ca Mau creates a strong push to develop local tourism.

Sharing about the wind power development process of Bac Lieu province, Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee said: "Since the commencement of the first wind power project in Bac Lieu, invested by Cong Ly company in October 2010 until now, almost 12 years. If in the first 10 years (from 2010 - 2020), the province has 62 wind turbines put into operation with a capacity of 99.2MW, then within 2 years of 2020-2021, Bac Lieu has installed 100 more turbines. at sea and onshore with a total capacity of 370MW connected to the national grid. Moreover, in terms of the capacity of each turbine, if the first stage only has a capacity of 1.6MW per turbine, then the turbines will be larger in scale, up to over 4MW per pillar, along with technology. more modern, reaching standards equivalent to the world.

At the same time, he also affirmed that in the present and in the future, wind power projects along with 3,200MW LNG gas thermal power project will play a big role as one of the five pillars of Bac Lieu's economic development. in the spirit of Resolution 36 of the Central Committee on "Strategy for sustainable development of Vietnam's marine economy to 2030, with a vision to 2045" and recently Resolution 13 of the Politburo on development of the Mekong Delta region.
