Tan Thuan Wind Power Plant project phase 1 and phase 2 have a total capacity of 75 MW, with a scale of 18 wind turbine towers. The project is invested by Ca Mau Renewable Energy Investment Joint Stock Company.

This is the first wind power plant in Ca Mau, the plant was started on December 27, 2019 and has a total investment of over 3,800 billion VND.

According to the investor: The project is built on different terrains, with many items of high complexity. In which, 18 wind power poles are located on the sea (with the farthest pole being 5.3km from the shore).

The mixed 22kV transmission line consists of 5 undersea cable circuits connecting 18 wind turbine towers. Along with that is the overhead line connecting the T1 pole to the substation, so it faces many difficulties when the weather at sea fluctuates. In addition, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic also had a significant impact on the construction progress of the project.

Along with that is a 110kV transformer station located on the estuary area, with high erosion due to the impact of the flow. The 110kV transmission line is 6.16km long, crossing an area with many rivers and canals, requiring all meticulous calculations, precise construction, and coordination between the EPC general contractor and subcontractors.

Mr. Vu Hung Hai, Director of Ca Mau Renewable Energy Investment Joint Stock Company, the project investor shared: "Overcoming difficulties, the project ensures the schedule committed to the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, completing the target. The goal is to put the project into commercial operation before November 1, 2021.”

When put into operation, Tan Thuan Wind Power Plant will supplement the national electricity system with about 225 million kWh/year, contributing to ensuring energy security and promoting local economic development in Dam Doi district in particular. and Ca Mau province in general. Thanks to the project, it has created jobs for workers and a stable source of income for the Ca Mau province's budget of about 45 billion VND/year.

At the ceremony, Mr. Huynh Quoc Viet - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province shared: "Ca Mau province still has many difficulties in terms of infrastructure but has many potentials and advantages for development, especially energy and trade development. , services, tourism, seaports... especially renewable energy.

Provincial leaders have and will implement stronger solutions to continue to improve the business investment environment for businesses.
