Adding 4 wind power projects - Lam Dong transformed for development

Lam Dong wants to add four wind power projects with a capacity of more than 170 MWh/year with an estimated investment of VND 7,600 billion. These 4 projects will affect more than 4,500 ha of protection forest.

On March 1, Lam Dong Department of Industry and Trade said that it had reported to the Provincial People's Committee for this agency to take the next steps to apply for an addition to the national electricity development plan (Phase 2021-2030) with 4 Wind power plant in Don Duong district, next to Cau Dat wind power project, Da Lat city is under construction.

According to information from the Department of Industry and Trade of Lam Dong province, the project cluster of Don Duong 1, 2, 3 and 3A wind power plants with a total capacity of nearly 200 MW is implemented by EMI Investment Joint Stock Company.

These wind power plants were surveyed and built in Dran town and Lac Xuan, Ka Do and Pró communes (Don Duong district). It is expected that the cluster of 4 Don Duong wind power plants will generate more than 170 MWh/year of electricity output to the grid.

The maximum area for each factory is about 32ha. According to the plan, 4 wind power plants in Don Duong district will have 12 turbine towers, each with a capacity of 4 to 4.2 MW, about 100m high, 150m in blade diameter. Total estimated investment is 7,600 billion VND.

According to a survey by Lam Dong Department of Industry and Trade, the cluster of wind power projects mentioned above will affect 4,500 hectares of local protection and production forests. In addition, the area of non-forestry land is also affected by over 800 ha.
