Vessel H425
Goals & Scope of Work
PPL executed transportation and launch operations for the H425 aluminum vessel, supporting the newbuilding and completion process in Vietnam. The vessel was transported from Austal Vietnam’s fabrication yard and loaded onto a barge for transportation to Ba Son Port. After launching, PPL continued handling the vessel return to Dong Xuyen Port for final completion works.
The scope of work included site-move, load-out, load-in, barge transportation and vessel relaunch operations, with a total transport weight of 2,918 tons.
Key Challenges
- The aluminum vessel structure required strict control during transportation and launch operations
- Large dimensions required precise transportation planning and operational coordination
- Load-out, load-in and launch operations depended heavily on tidal conditions
- Vessel relaunch operations required strict marine safety control
- Tight project schedule required close coordination between all parties involved
Solutions & Deployment
PPL implemented the transportation and launch plan based on detailed engineering calculations and site surveys:
- Utilized SPMT systems to transport the vessel while ensuring load distribution and structural stability
- Coordinated load-out and barge transportation operations to the launching area
- Performed load-out and launch operations in accordance with technical procedures
- Arranged vessel relaunch operations for post-launch transportation activities
- Maintained close coordination between engineering, operations and site teams to ensure project safety and schedule compliance
