Dak Lak unveils 257 investment projects worth over VND 1 quadrillion
On June 27, the People's Committee of Dak Lak Province held a conference to announce the provincial planning and promote investment for the 2021–2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
The conference was attended by General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence; Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission; representatives of foreign embassies and consulates; leaders of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, the People's Committee, provincial departments and agencies, as well as numerous businesses and investors.
Formation of three complementary development spaces
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Do Huu Huy, Chairman of the Dak Lak People's Committee, said that the outstanding feature of Dak Lak in its new development stage is the formation of three interconnected and complementary development spaces, creating a distinctive competitive advantage.
The western area will serve as a driving force for high-tech agriculture, processing industries, renewable energy, and border-gate economic activities. It is also a major production center for many of Vietnam's key agricultural products, including coffee, pepper, rubber, durian, macadamia, and fruit trees.
The eastern area opens up opportunities for the development of the marine economy with nearly 190 km of coastline, the Vung Ro – Bai Goc port system, the South Phu Yen Economic Zone, and strong potential for industrial development, logistics, port services, tourism, and coastal urban areas. Bai Goc Deep-water Port is planned to become an important import-export gateway for the Central Highlands, directly connecting with international shipping routes.
According to Mr. Do Huu Huy, the close linkage between raw material production areas, urban-service centers, and the marine economic space has created favorable conditions for Dak Lak to develop integrated value chains from production, processing, logistics, to export within a unified development space. This is a remarkable competitive advantage that very few localities in Vietnam possess.
In particular, Dak Lak coffee is the only representative from Vietnam to be recognized by National Geographic among the Top 15 most attractive culinary destinations in the world.

Mr. Do Huu Huy said that the Dak Lak provincial planning conference announced a list of 257 investment projects calling for investment, with a total estimated registered capital of more than VND 1 quadrillion, covering many key sectors.
At the same time, the province granted investment policy approvals and Investment Registration Certificates to approximately 32 projects with a total estimated investment of VND 40 trillion. It also granted survey approvals and signed memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with 25 investors for 28 projects, with a total estimated investment of more than VND 427 trillion.
