Cosco Shipping Lines will upgrade 14 direct shipping routes connecting the Far East and the US West Coast starting in 2026, reducing transit times to as little as 12 to 14 days.

According to the company, the plan will be implemented from 2026 with the aim of optimizing its trans-Pacific shipping network, expanding service coverage, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing schedule reliability on the Far East–US West Coast trade lane.

Under the new service structure, Cosco will operate direct shipping routes between the Far East and the US West Coast through revised vessel schedules, combined dual-brand operations with Orient Overseas Container Lines (OOCL), and an increase in the number of direct port calls along each route.

The carrier stated that the upgrade is designed to improve transit speed, increase flexibility, and strengthen service reliability for cross-border logistics between China and the United States.

Among the 14 upgraded routes, 10 services will cover the southwestern United States, while the remaining four routes will connect to the northwestern region of the country.

One of the most notable changes is the selection of Yantian Port as the primary operational hub for the new services. In addition, Cosco will introduce dedicated shipping services for e-commerce cargo, offering transit times of only 12 to 14 days to the US West Coast.

The company will also implement an independent dual-brand operating model between Cosco Shipping Lines and OOCL to improve service stability and optimize operational efficiency across trans-Pacific routes.
