DBN PWN & AB OBS
Goals & Scope of Work
The DBN PWN & AB OBS Project involved the transportation and load-out of offshore oil & gas structures under strict technical and international safety standards.
PPL provided site-move and load-out services for oversized and heavy cargo from the fabrication yard to the export barge.
The scope of work included handling multiple heavy structures simultaneously, with cargo weights reaching nearly 1,800 tons per unit using specialized SPMT transportation systems.
Key Challenges
- Handling oversized and heavy structures weighing up to nearly 1,800 tons per unit
- Performing simultaneous load-out operations for multiple heavy cargoes on the same barge
- Ensuring precise load distribution and structural stability throughout transportation and load-out operations
- Limited working space and execution time at the fabrication yard and jetty area
- Strict compliance with technical and safety requirements from international oil & gas clients
Solutions & Deployment
- Implemented detailed site-move and load-out plans based on technical calculations and project execution experience
- Utilized specialized SPMT transportation systems to ensure cargo stability and load distribution
- Optimized load-out sequence and operational timing for multiple structures on the same barge
- Closely monitored technical factors including center of gravity, inclination and load control during each execution stage
- Maintained close coordination between engineering, operations and site teams to ensure project safety and schedule compliance
