Barossa FPSO (Shipment 2)
The Barossa - Singapore Phase 2 project is being undertaken by PPL. The project will take place from February 23, 2023 to March 1, 2023.
Goals & Scope of Work
- Transport and load-out of structures serving the CO₂ processing system
- Route: Vina-Offshore → Dong Xuyen Port
- Movement using trailers/SPMT with lifting support
- Load-out onto barge for international marine transport
Key Challenges
- Heavy equipment requiring strict stability and balance control during movement
- Coordination between two port locations under continuous execution conditions
- High precision required during load-out operations
- Synchronization between SPMT – lifting – barge throughout execution
- Impact from tidal conditions and quay operations
Solutions & Deployment
- Used SPMT/trailer systems suitable for heavy cargo
- Applied lifting support for safe movement and accurate positioning
- Executed load-out based on tidal windows
- Controlled key factors such as center of gravity, tilt and load distribution
- Ensured coordination between engineering, operations and site teams to maintain safety and schedule
