Ship Unloader F1000
Goals & Scope of Work
The Ship Unloader F1000 Project was implemented to support port cargo handling operations, requiring the movement of large and heavy equipment within a constrained working environment.
PPL carried out site-move of oversized and heavy equipment, including receiving, transporting and positioning the ship unloader system from the staging area to its designated location at the port.
The scope included transportation using SPMT systems, combined with lifting operations supporting movement and positioning, ensuring the equipment was accurately placed in accordance with project technical requirements.
Key Challenges
The ship unloader features a complex structure, large dimensions and a weight of up to 310 T, requiring specialized transport solutions
Operations were executed within an active port environment, with limited space and strict safety requirements
High accuracy required during positioning within the installation area
Weather conditions and port operations affected execution planning
Solutions & Deployment
PPL implemented the site-move plan based on detailed engineering calculations and on-site surveys:
- Utilized SPMT systems to transport the equipment, ensuring proper load distribution and operational stability
- Combined lifting support to facilitate safe movement and precise positioning
- Developed detailed movement plans adapted to actual site conditions
- Ensured safe operations within the active port through strict coordination
- Coordinated closely between engineering, operations and site teams to control progress and minimize risks
