Dak N’drung Wind Power Project 1, 2, 3 – Dak Nong
Goals & Scope of Work
The Dak N’Drung Wind Power Project 1, 2, 3 was implemented to support the transportation and installation of wind turbine components in the Central Highlands, with strict requirements on schedule and safety.
PPL carried out transportation and port handling from Phu My and Cam Ranh ports to the project site, ensuring all components were delivered on time and positioned according to plan.
The scope included transportation of 81 wind turbine units, consisting of oversized and heavy components such as towers, blades, and nacelles, in compliance with international technical and safety standards.
Key Challenges
Large and heavy components, with the heaviest reaching 107 tons and the longest up to 75.7 meters
Long transportation distance (620 km) from port to site
Complex terrain and mountainous routes in the Central Highlands
Weather and traffic conditions affecting transportation operations
Tight schedule requiring synchronized coordination of equipment and manpower
Solutions & Deployment
PPL implemented a dedicated transportation solution tailored for wind power projects:
- Mobilized specialized transport equipment imported from Europe
- Developed detailed transport plans for each oversized and heavy component
- Organized port handling and route execution based on actual site conditions
- Maintained strict supervision throughout the entire operation to ensure safety
- Coordinated experienced engineering and operations teams to handle on-route challenges efficiently
