Cu Ne 1&2, Krong Buk 1&2 Wind Power Project – Dak Lak
Goals & Scope of Work
The Cu Ne 1&2 and Krong Buk 1&2 Wind Power Project was implemented to support the transportation and installation of wind turbine components in Dak Lak, with strict requirements on schedule and technical standards.
PPL provided transportation, port handling and customs clearance, ensuring all 73 wind turbine units were delivered from Phu My and Cam Ranh ports to the project site safely and on schedule.
The scope included transporting oversized and heavy components such as towers, blades and nacelles, combined with efficient customs clearance to maintain continuous cargo flow.
Key Challenges
Large and heavy components, with the heaviest reaching 110 tons and the longest up to 77 meters
Long transportation distance (747 km) from port to site
Mountainous terrain and complex road conditions in the Central Highlands
Heavy rainfall affecting transportation operations
Project execution during pandemic restrictions requiring strict operational control
Tight schedule with high coordination demands
Solutions & Deployment
PPL implemented a dedicated transportation strategy tailored for onshore wind logistics:
- Mobilized specialized heavy transport equipment for oversized cargo
- Developed transport plans adapted to terrain and weather conditions
- Maintained continuous operations to meet project deadlines
- Coordinated closely between project teams and engineering units to handle arising issues
- Optimized customs clearance processes to ensure timely cargo flow
