Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation
Goals & Scope of Work
The logistics project supporting the Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Complex was implemented to handle the large-scale transportation and customs clearance of materials and equipment throughout construction and operation phases.
PPL executed transportation and customs clearance, handling approximately two-thirds of the total construction materials, equivalent to over 1,000,000 CBM of cargo.
The scope included handling various cargo types such as construction equipment, containers, bulk cargo, LCL shipments, and air freight, combined with customs services to ensure continuous and on-schedule cargo flow.
Key Challenges
Massive cargo volume (over 1,000,000 CBM) requiring large-scale coordination capability
Diverse cargo types demanding flexible logistics solutions
Need for synchronization between transportation and customs clearance to avoid supply chain disruption
High schedule pressure throughout construction and operational phases
High-frequency transport operations over a short distance (~30 km)
Solutions & Deployment
PPL implemented an integrated logistics solution combining transportation and customs services:
- Organized flexible transport systems tailored to cargo types and project conditions
- Executed customs clearance efficiently to ensure timely cargo release
- Maintained continuous transport operations to handle large volumes over an extended period
- Closely monitored progress and coordinated with all stakeholders
- Optimized operational processes to enhance overall logistics efficiency
